Geezer Rules

Have fun!  Don't take it too seriously.  This is a gentleman's game.  People have to go to work so don't hurt anyone.

If you sign up, you must show up!  Everyone gets ill in the night occasionally, or has something come up.  Send an email, text a friend, but make sure someone knows you are not coming.  The earlier, the better.  Guests who are assigned to teams but don't show up will lose guest privileges.  Geezers who don't show up and don't post the group will be dropped from future games when we have bad numbers.

No slide tackling!  This includes any 'going to ground' when opponents are around.

Let the keeper have the ball.  We do not challenge goalkeepers for 50/50 or 60/40 or 70/30 balls.  Duck out of challenges and let the keeper have the ball.  

Volunteer to play goal when we don't have dedicated goalkeepers.  Everyone needs to share this responsibility.

Volunteer to sub out fairly when we have substitutes.  We really try to minimize the # of subs in our games, but we will often have 1 sub.

Play different positions.

You are welcome to sign up guests.  But you are responsible for their conduct.  When you sign up guests, point them to this page.  YOU are responsible for making sure they know these rules.

We welcome relatives, including children.  But children must be 17+ to play. 

We will play hard for 90 mins.  Then we shake hands at full time.

We regularly celebrate birthdays on the pitch at full time.  Any milestone birthday should be accompanied by a morning drink of your choice.

Geezers who play infrequently may also be dropped from games when we have too many signed up and can't get voluntary drops. 

The Geezer FC community is a volunteer group, now in our 18th year!   Please contribute to the group in some way.  We have many very active chat groups and have become a fantastic resource center for our entire community.  Get involved.

We are also a private group.  No press.  Don't talk about Fight Club.
